BBQ Chicken. Honey Lime Slaw. Old Bay Mash Potatoes. Corn.

Mealtime Menu.

I have posted a lot today. I guess I am in the mood for blogging. Some days, not so much. Some days, way too busy. Today I am devoting to blogging.

I have some bread in the oven, rising. Oh how I LOVE bread. Bread is one thing that takes awhile to post, due to pictures, explanation, etc. But I need to post some bread recipes soon!

But on to the Menu: *When I make a mealtime menu, if I remember...I take a picture of what I eat for dinner on a particular night, and put it together for you to make a meal for yourself and family. Or whatever the case may be. So, taking the guess work out of what to make for dinner=Mealtime Menu! *You can do your own thing of course. Happy Cooking!

Old Bay Mashed Potatoes

Old Bay...love that spice!

Growing up on the East Coast, Old Bay Seasoning is common there. It doesn't taste fishy and you can put it on lots of things...especially potatoes! Love it!

You can find Old Bay in most grocery stores. This is one of my favorite spices, hope you like it too!

Grilled Steak with Onion Mushroom Sauce

Steak. Grill. Sauce. What a great combo!

Whenever I ask my husband what he wants for dinner, he says one of two things...or both. Steak and Shrimp. Well, I made him steak one night, and he had a smile on his face while he was eating. With a side of potatoes of coarse.

Spanish Soft Tacos

If only you could smell this...

I love the sweet/savory smell of spices sauteing in a skillet. The blend of onions, garlic and spices. How it fills your home and satisfies your sense of smell and makes you eager to eat in a few minutes when it is done. The joy of cooking.

The key to making this meal taste so good is the ingredients. When you have fresh ingredients, such as fresh cilantro and lime...it makes the flavor burst throughout the food and therefore makes your dinner taste better and your taste buds thank you. I even use fresh tortilla shells (that I buy from Costco) and cook them on a skillet before I use them. SO GOOD.

Brown Rice Waffles

And this is why I want a double flip waffle iron...to make more of THESE...

I was telling a friend about these waffles and how I put brown rice in them. She said, "why put rice in?" I said, "Why not?" 1. The waffles taste AMAZING. 2. More nutrition and fiber, giving you a great start to the day. 3. Adding variations to your waffles and pancakes give it more attitude and personality. 4. You can't even taste the brown rice. So, why not? Really, I mean, if you make these and serve them to your family or friends and later tell them what is in them...they will never know and they will say, "You put what in the waffles? No way."

Try them for yourself and you will see. But for sure this is another recipe you can add too your rice collection.

Oh and add blueberries in them...DIVINE!

It was so fun to take pictures of these waffles. They look as good as they taste. No joke.

I love how fiber and food that is healthy for you...Fills you up. Satisfying. Gives you strength and energy. Great start to ANY day. If you know me, you know that 1. Fiber is my friend. 2. Just because it is healthy doesn't mean that it tastes bad, if fact usually tastes better and you feel better. 3. I eat most my fat, calories (and a lot of fiber) in the morning and don't eat past 7pm. It works for me and is good for me.

I think that we as a society should eat healthy. There are so many things that could go wrong with our body in an instant. If you take care of your body...your body will take care of you.

Ok, enough preaching ;) On to the food...

Roasted Veggies and Sausage

As my dad would say..."Tasty" This meal has it all.

The most difficult part about making this meal is the chopping. That is all it is. Throw everything on a large cookie sheet and let the oven do ALL the work. And it has your veggies, meat, potatoes all in one...so you don't need an extra side dish. Simple as that.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day. It really makes you grateful for your gifts, blessing and country you live in. Hard work is important. Something that will help you soar and excel. We should teach our children the value of hard work and manners so we can let them fly on their own someday and be proud to call them "Ours".

Are you hungry? Does this picture make you hungry? Well, my mouth is watering. Good food is better with good spices. Spice makes things taste. Just that...taste better. Bland is boring in my opinion. This dish is full of flavor! Hope you enjoy.

Baked 3 Cheese Penne Pasta

This dish is sure to please Everyone!

Kid friendly. Vegetarian. Lots of Cheese. And who doesn't LOVE Pasta?! Oh...and it is Easy to make. I taught this recipe to a class of about 10 teenage girls. The next day, they were all calling me for the recipe. Hopefully, they made dinner for their family.

This recipe is familiar to Lasagna. Cheese...lots of it. Sauce. Pasta. Comfort and Taste. What a great combo!

I was talking to my cousin...another Lasagna lover like me. And he said he eats leftover pasta, cold...even for breakfast! Well, I have to admit I have eaten cold pasta, but not sure if I ate it for breakfast. Either way, still good.
